Children's reading environment has gradually become an important aspect of children's reading research. Understanding children's reading environment of city, township, rural areas in Chongqing, is the base to verify whether urban and rural children have gaps and the premise to shorten the gaps. Analysing the reasons why urban and rural children have gaps, exploring the measures to shorten the gaps, can provide some references for the family, school, society to improve children's reading environment.This paper carries on empirical research by questionnaires survey, interviews method and comparison method. This article systematically compares urban and rural children's reading environment in ChongQing. Based on the results of empirical research, for the specific reading environment gap, the paper proposes several strategies to improve children's home reading environment, school environment, and social environment from the perspective of school library and public library.This paper focuses on the following three aspects:comparing urban and rural children's reading environment; analyzing the reasons which caused the gaps; exploring some measures to shorten the gaps.2 figs.30 tabs,76 refs...
