ABSTRACT:In recent years, with the rapid development of computer technology, three-dimensional animation is affecting our life, which will be the fifth multimedia type after voice, image, video and 3D model. Motion capture technology infuses a new energy to three-dimensional animation. Animator could get three-dimensional human data efficiently and quickly with the help of motion capture technology. Though the technology is rapidly perfect, the original motion data is singleness of types and it contains noises. Therefore, re-editing motion capture data and improving the utilization ratio of data will be an important research field, which is motion editing technology. This dissertation principally studies the design and implementation of motion editing system on the basis of motion capture technology. The dissertation focuses on the following work:we make a summary about motion capture and motion editing technologies, and we show human skeleton structure, expression of human joint, relationship of Euler angle and quaternion, and we present a new algorithm of quaternion to Euler angle conversion, which will achieve the conversion in angle range of -360°~+360°. The dissertation introduces intra-motion in detail, which includes motion smoothing, motion multiresolution analysis and motion retargeting, and we adopt three methods of smoothing motion capture data and comes to a conclusion finally. This dissertation introduces inter-motions, motion transition and motion blending, and presents related algorithms and experimental results. Finally, this dissertation designs and realizes motion editing system platform, the functions of the platform include motion smoothing, motion transition and motion retargeting.
