As the development of the computer animation technology, it is not only widely used by traditional animation, but also playing increasingly important roles in video game and movie industry. On the other hand, the increase in demand of the computer animation also contributed to the development of computer animation technology, such as motion capture technology, motion reuse technology. As the motion data becomes more and more huge, how to reuse the motion data is presented as a crucial problem for computer animation realm.This paper presents a unified solution to the foot skate problem in motion editing and implements this solution. There are a lot of motion editing techniques, including motion blend, motion transition, motion retargeting and so on. This solution proposed to solve different foot skate problem introduced by these motion editing techniques. In this solution preprocess the input motion to extract the constraint information. And then re-apply the constraints to the output motion according to the timeline by adjusting the pose which is no longer maintaining the constraints.In the end of the paper, we implement motion blend algorithm, motion transition algorithm and motion retargeting algorithm, which are the common techniques in motion edit. And apply the foot skate cleanup solution to these algorithms to remove the foot skate problem. At the same time, this solution is used in various motion editing modules in the Roc system.
