Design And Implementation Of Video On Demand Of Radio And TV University

This paper analyzes the Teaching_Learning_Model and the current status of the ELearning of the Radio and TV University, pointing out some problems of the Online Distance Learning Platform of the Radio and TV University, especially the barriers brought in to learners in video learning function, which have run for over ten years. With modern distance education theory and the rapid development of computer technology, based on the opportunity of the construction of the Open University of Inner Mongolia Radio and TV University, the paper presents the design and development of the Video On Demand (short for VOD) of Radio and TV University.This paper analyzes the main function and design of the VOD, introduces the design of the home page and the Background Management System. It also makes descriptions in detail of the functional model and the database, presenting key tables, including User_T, Specialty_T, Course_T,Article_T,Admin_T, etc. Meanwhile, based on the actual situation of Inner Mongolia Radio and TV University, the paper also introduces the hardware conditions, network operating environment and safety technical measures.Objectively speaking, the VOD system doesn't use the currently deep computer theory and advanced frontier technologies, but from the point of engineering, it has resolved the video learning problem, which has puzzled us for long. Now, it has become a quite important assisted learning system to the Online Distance Learning Platform. It has greatly improved interest and enthusiasm of learners,and promoted the online teaching work. The realization of VOD has extremely vital significance to our University.
