Research On The Structure Of Rural Library Collections

Rural Library is a cultural project launched by General Administration of Press and Publication in the vast rural areas for all farmers in response to the call of the government to construct the new socialist countryside. The project benefiting all farmers plays a significant role in building the new culture of new countryside. At present, Rural Library is being constructed vigorously in each corner of China and plays its role to different extent. In particular, its role in improving the scientific level and cultural literacy of the farmers, enriching the rural cultural life and promoting the construction of rural civilization is more outstanding. The facts prove that the catalogue of rural library collections allocated by General Administration of Press and Publication and each publishing unit achieve remarkable results and are highly appreciated by the rural residents. However, Rural Library, as a newly emerging thing, will inevitably encounter some problems during the process of concrete construction and operation. From the catalogue of books published publicly in recent years, it could note that Rural Library has limitations on the allocation of book content, which propose severe tests for the sustainable development of Rural Library. Only when we pay attention to and resolve the problem, will the project of Rural Library unify the construction motive and the actual effect and will the sustainable development be realized. With the research object of the book catalogue of Rural Library-a large scale cultural project implemented by China's press and publishing industry in rural areas in recent years, this research seeks to roundly and systematically analyze and investigate the newly emerging thing and propose constructive suggestions.This research consists of three parts. The first part is the research significance, thinking and methods of the topic. The second part is the structural analysis for Rural Library collections. The third party is the measures and countermeasures to improve the structure of Rural Library. From the integral development of rural economic society and comprehensively utilizing the theoretical methods of publishing science, cultural science and social science, this research explored the sustainable and healthy development road of Rural Library to make it become the benchmark of the rural cultural construction and took it as a turning and starting point to drive the rural cultural construction in all directions.
