Customized Procurement Process Based On FlowER System

Business Process Management (BPM) includes methods, techniques, and tools to support the design, enactment, management, and analysis of operational business processes. It can be considered as an extension of classical Workflow Management (WFM) systems and approaches. FlowER is one of the BPM software based on WFM system and it has been successfully adopted by many economic entities due to its convenient user interface and powerful management ability. However its procurement process control system is not sufficient especially for users using procurement process frequently. In this thesis we analyze the procurement process and design a customized procurement process control system based on FlowER in order to overcome the defects of FlowER and provide efficient management for procurement process. Experiments result show that our new customized system works very well and has some good properties as designed.In detail, main contributions of this thesis can be summarized as follows: 1. We systematically review BPM from several aspects, including its history, research status and the state of art technique.2. Due to lacking in analysis of FlowER BPM system, we have a comprehensive study about FlowER BPM system at first. Based on our analysis we point out the deficiency of FlowER system for procurement process and specify our main goal in this thesis.3. We analyze the whole process of procurement process and identify the requirements of this task. Based on our achievement in the analysis phase, we implement a customized procurement process management system based on FlowER. Experiments results show that our customized system has achieved basic requirements designed in the design phase, and has very good performance during the procurement process.
