In April 2009, the China Broadcast Bureau published a decree about the requirement of the Ethernet over cable.EOC which has no effect on the translation of the Cable Television over the coaxial cable is broad band access technology to transmit the Ethernet data.EOC which is the requirement of the next generation will be the first choice of the last several hundred miles of access technology before the complement of FTTH. There are several different kinds of EOC technology with different performance, characteristic and application environment.In this paper, the first part is the brief introduction of the background and significance of the research. The next part is detailed analysis and discussion of the relevant theories of EOC technology, mainly including EOC network characteristics, principles. Then a detailed introduction classified EOC into four categories, such as passive EOC, active source EOC, the low frequency EOC and high frequency EOC. The next section is some of the analysis of existing mainstream EOC technology and the comparative analysis of the EOC technology in choice on some of the key factor. The finally part is the EOC technology application analysis。This part is mainly aimed at Home Plug technology and Home Plug AV application. The Home Plug technology part included the Home Plug agreement scope, the physical layer analysis and access control layer are analysis. The Home Plug AV application analysis part puts forward link attenuation and current speed for the influence of system throughput, and puts forward the opinion project reform at the base of the analysis and sum-up of experimental data. For the final, the article analyzes EOC network management, and puts forward the opinion of the EPON+EOC scheme of comprehensive network management advice.
