The Design And Simulation Of IPTV Quality Control System

With the rapid development of internet and network insertion rate, new network applications, represented by IPTV, are becoming more and more mature, and people's demand for the video quality is also becoming higher and higher. Therefore, researches related to the quality control of IPTV have become hotspot. In fact, quality control is conducive to the layout, operation and maintenance of the IPTV system.The quality of service of the IPTV is mainly reflected through the performance parameters of the network layer and application layer. The realization for quality control system of the IPTV mainly bases on collecting the performance parameter of the network layer, which has been realized from two aspects.On one hand, the measurement for the performance parameter of the IPTV network which collects the performance parameter of the IPTV network through the existing network measurement methods as time delay, jitter and packet loss;On the other hand,it adopts a certain control strategies to make the visual effect of the final user get effective improvement according to the collected performance parameter of the network.In this paper, the availability and scalability of the system are the main issues considered in designing the quality control system of the IPTV. The quality control system of the IPTV is not only compatible with existing network protocols, but can also achieve the purpose of controlling the video packet for the IPTV through improving the protocol at the transport layer. In addition, the quality control system of the IPTV reserves the interfaces for the RTP and other application layer protocols to expand the system in the future.First, this paper gives the brief analysis for the IPTV technology and points out the importance of the quality control system of the IPTV. Next, it introduces the main technologies related with the quality control system of the IPTV; wherein, it includes the video codec technology and network measurement technology. Then, it gives the requirement analysis and detailed design of the system to confirm the target goal for the quality control system of the IPTV. Moreover, it discusses the simulation design and realization for the quality control system of the IPTV and introduces the detailed issues as development environment and so on. Final, it tests and analyzes the data for the quality control system of the IPTV to prove the complete function and effective control of this system.
