Research And Implementation Of Workflow Modeling Based On Organization

With the development of society and the improvement of science and technology,the competition between enterprises and institutions is becoming more and more fierce. Enterprises and institutions need to improve work efficiency, reduce production cost, improve enterprise competitiveness continuously,only in this way, can enterprises and institutions take the cake in the fierce competition,so it becomes urgent for enterprises and institutions to change the traditional inefficient work mode.In this context, Workflow technology arises at the historic moment,which makes enterprises and institutions use computer information system to impove efficiency becomes possible.With the constant development,workflow technology has become a main means to improve the efficiency of running and the competitiveness for enterprises and stitutions.Workflow management system is a system software to define,achieve and manage the workflow,including the tool of process definition,workflow execution service,client and the platform of management.The tool of modeling is a very important part of Workflow Management System, process definition is the starting of the whole Workflow,whether building the correct model fast and effectively is vital important.This paper presents the current foreign and domestic research status of the workflow modeling method, analyses and summarizes several typical methods. Most of the workflow modeling methods are based on task, which mainly describe the tasks and the time logic of their execution, but those models weakly describe the interaction between the participants and the whole concept of the role's activities.This paper extends the traditional organization model, realizes the visual definition of the organization, and presents a workflow process definition method based on organization. This method associates roles with responsibilities in organization,describes duty as a collection of specific tasks and defines precess based on organization's staff. This method is simple, intuitive and understandable as the modeling method based on activity network diagram,and it also can clearly describe staffs'main activities and the interactions with other roles in the organization.In the workflow definition process, we do not need lookup organization forms constantly, thus it can reduce the time of process definition, reduce the difficulty of process definition and increase the robustness of the process model. This paper designs and realizes a workflow definition tool OBWFDT based on organization,extends traditional organization model and defines precess based on organization's staff. In order to facilitate with other workflow systems for mutual cooperation, this paper realizes the conversion between workflow definition information and XPDL format data that put forward by Workflow Management Coalition, realizes the organization's visualization definition.In order to ensure the smooth communication under network environment, this paper uses Scalable Vector Graphics technology to display interface. Finally, this paper shows the effectiveness and correctness of the workflow definition tool through the example.
