With the rapid development of Internet, web-based applications has become more and more. Internet applications have grown deep into all aspects of social life, network high-availability (HA) has became an important issue in front of engineers when people enjoying the convenience brought to us by the network. Nowadays there are two main ways to improve network reliability:First, spend money to update existing network equipment; and the second way is using redundant network equipment. While the former is a good reliability of the solution, but in respect of protecting current investments and cost savings point of view, the latter is economical, and shows the balance between great advantages of reliability and economy. Based on the large enterprise portals on the high availability needs, in the virtual cluster quickly failed rescue analysis, design, implementation and performance tuning to do in-depth research.This treatise firstly introduces the virtual cluster concept and failover technologies involved, after that analyzes the limitations of the original failover model, and then analysiz the VRRP (Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol) virtual routing redundancy protocol and RPC (Remote Procedure Calls) in the application of FFO (Fast FailOver) model, based on analysis of software requirements derived system; and on this basis, the overall framework of the system Design, and finally introduces the FFO kernel sub-module, VRRP sub-module, VIP sub-module and RPC sub-module, focusing on the design and implementation of VRRP sub-moudle, VIP sub-module and RPC I assumed.FFO module was developed based on FreeBSD and Array Networks company independent network protocol stack, according to VRRP protocol, integrating use of modular analysis and design methods, VRRP, RPC programming technology development and design. Optimization made FFO module with great reliability, scalability and reusability. After a post-test, the system can satisfy load balance products'HA demands, and can greatly reduce the establishment and maintenance of the burden of corporate sites, with good development prospects, meanwhile future applications has been taken into account the implementation of FFO module.
