In the medical, pharmaceutical, food and the environment often use test strips to detect biochemical content. Colloidal gold labeling (referred to as gold standard) test strips for detection is a common strip, it can do qualitative detection of clenbuterol, ractopamine and other biochemical content. When the sample material to be analyzed were higher than the detection limit of test strips, test strips can not display color. When the sample to be analyzed compounds were lower than the detection limit of test strips, different concentrations of sample test paper will be presented in different colors. The test strip is a qualitative test, the sample quantity and test the case of high precision can not meet the testing requirements, so development of a quantitative analysis of the sample to the concentration of chemical and biological detection equipment is necessary.Biological and chemical detection equipments on the market most are commonly larger,not easy portable and suitable for precision measurement in the laboratory. And most are not able to independently process the data, must use computers and other aids to measure. When you want to detect a large number of samples rapid in the field, or you test independent with no equipment, in these cases these large instruments do not apply. This paper studies a portable colloidal gold strips which based on ARM embedded systems and image processing methods. It is small, light weight, easy to carry, able to process the data, to achieve quantitative detection function.The portable colloidal gold strips include image acquisition module, image storage module, data processing module, the operation display module and communication module. With a CMOS camera, ARM9 series S3C2440 chip, LCD touch screen and other components to build the hardware model and design related software. Analyzer can independent collect a picture by the CMOS camera, and stored in the corresponding memory location. Extracted gray-scale image characteristic values by using the software , MATLAB Curve Fitting Toolbox using the gray characteristics of the concentration of the sample fitted with the corresponding function of the image after the software writes. When measured again, the input image gray scale characteristics of value, can automatically pre-set function according to the corresponding concentration of the sample to be detected. Instrument also supports SD card storage, sample images can be stored in the SD card for easy data access. The main contents of this paper is divided into hardware and software design structures, Specific contents are as follows:In the chapter one, introduced background and research of the strip analyzer. Comparison of several common image processing method and selection method of the advantages and disadvantages of the microprocessor were given. Through the experimental study and discussion of the background, the overall design scheme proposed. Measurement method combined with the image embedded system design of the portable ARM gold standard test strip analyzer.In the chapter two, introduced the system design of the overall program. Include the composition principle of the test card, the choice of light source, optical mechanism, image filtering, feature selection and calculation. Through the analysis of image features, Using median filter and mean filter method of combining filtering, Extract C line and T line and the background gray level difference as the C line and T line of gray feature values. Finally, Introduced the principle of MATLAB function fitting.In the chapter three, described the hardware design. Build the hardware platform consist of the CMOS image sensors, LCD touch screen, S3C2440 chips and other components. Include image acquisition module, memory module, image processing module, the operation display module and communication modules, describe the component connection method and options.In the chapter four, design software of the system. Including image acquisition and storage, Eigen value extraction and calculation. Using Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 development platform build and debug related programming projects. The feature extraction software was designed based on mouse tracking algorithm. Because strip color region relatively narrow, Select a line of the features as the calculation region. Using the MATLAB function fitted toolbox gray value extraction function of the sample concentration. Software programming will be compiled in the ARM board under Windows CE 6.0 operating system, independent of the instrument to process the data from the computer.In the chapter five, Hardware and software platform to build has finished. Select a certain amount of samples to test the performance of analyzer to verify the feasibility and the shortcomings of the design process. The case for this design are summarized, and performance improvements as well as on the later extensions were discussed.
