21st century is the soaring century of Chinese meteorological cause. CMA requires meteorological department in our country should provide good service for local government and social production. Excellent meteorological service is based on comprehensive, timely and precise data. Now present situation in our province is, coexistence of sorts of database system and monopoly of one database system for one business, short of unified planning and top-level design. So it is difficult for further development and maintenance, and many discomforts exist in data management and sharing.Present situation of development and application on storage technology at home and abroad is researched in the article. Some characters and operational requirements of meteorological data are analyzed, concluded and arranged in detail. We has given normalized treatment on meteorological data, designed and realized unified and integrated meteorological database, uniform and centralized data storage structure and quality control method, and the application model and interface specification for meteorological data service are brought up. We also designed and instructed automatic storage system. Finally the detailed test is applied to ensure the availability and robustness of the system.The automatic storage system established accurate and comprehensive meteorological database, and realized unified and systematic storage and sharing in Shaanxi provincial meteorological bureau, It enhanced means of data storage and sharing and improved the application level greatly.We only finished the arrangement of meteorological data, creation of database and establishment of automatic system. Further research on management of metadata, analysis of meteorological data and improvement of service quality for industrial users will be develop later.
