Design Of SF₆ Gas Leak Monitoring And Alarming System

SF₆ (six fluoride sulfur) is a kind of lazy insulating gas. Due to arcing outstanding performance and good electric insulation, it is widely used in electric power production industry. SF₆ gas is not toxic under atmospheric. However, it will decompose due to high temperature, pressure and ultraviolet radiation. And the decomposition is corrosive and toxicity which has a serious damage to human body. So the monitoring of the room containing SF₆ gas is an important part of power system monitoring. Therefore, SF₆ gas on-line monitoring is particularly important.This thesis will analyze, design and realize an available, price relatively high SF₆ gas leak on-line monitoring and alarming system through the analysis of the purpose and significance of SF₆ gas on-line monitoring. Also, it will improve the sensitivity and cost of the monitoring system through the selection of high performance ratio, the new SF₆ sensor, model SC-B.Firstly, the thesis introduces the function, main performance indexes and general design plan of SF₆ gas leak monitoring alarm system and explains the selection of the equipment of the functional modules.Secondly, the thesis describes the design and realization of the system modules including the functional modules of hardware and software design, communication mode, the selection and design of the programming language. Also, it shows the test condition after completing the system including the use of the software and burning test process, etc.Finally, this paper summarizes the research situation of the whole subject, explains the limits and proposes further assumption for such SF₆ gas leak monitoring alarm equipment.
