Since the radio resource is becoming scarcer, more efficient scheduling schemes of resource allocation are being explored. Opportunistic scheduling exploits the random variation caused by the fading in the time-varying channel as an"opportunity", which may dramatically improve the capacity of the fading channel and effectively utilize the radio resource. In the process of scheduling, Quality of Service (QoS) should be taken into account with great necessity.Theory of scheduling is briefly introduced at the beginning of the thesis. Opportunistic scheduling schemes with temporal fairness requirements in single-carrier system and multiuser OFDM system, both systems are time-division, are presented in details in the following. Simulations show that the opportunistic scheduling schemes are able to exploit the property of the time-varying channel and maximize the overall system performance while satisfying the temporal fairness requirements, a compromise between the users'fairness and the system performance. At the end of the thesis, an improvement aiming at the shortage of the latter scheme is made, which is testified by the simulation that it can utilize the system radio resource more effectively.
