With the progress of semiconductor technology and the rapid development of information industry, RF/microwave semiconductor devices are applied to more and more extensive areas, so the device parameter measurement has received increasingly more attention. Not only should the manufacturers study how to accurately measures the parameters of deices, but also the users are longing for accurate parameters, especially in the high-power situation.The thesis research was based on the Load/Source Pull technology in a high-power microwave automatic test system which overcomes the disadvantages like time-consuming and poor precision in traditional testing systems. This automatic test system is able to add the known load / source impedance to the device under test by controlling the automatic tuner which is controlled by computer. Then users can get the true DUT parameters by using a certain testing and data processing method.This paper combines theoretical research and practical work. It describes various components of Load/Source Pull based the high-power microwave automatic test system and thoroughly studies its software testing platform and data processing algorithms. Firstly the paper describes fundamental theory of the development of high-power automatic test system, secondly it studies the microwave structure and control circuit of the automatic tuner, finally it introduces the development and application of software test platform which is developed by Lab Windows /CVI,including motion control of the automatic tuner by computer, research and application of calibration and de-embed algorithm needed in the following test.
