Five-axis servo handling device has played an important role in safe production and reducing labor costs. Selection of servo motor directly decides the performance and cost of the servo handling device and is based on correct load inertia estimation.Firstly, this thesis describes the definition and calculation of the load inertia and load torque, and analyzes the effect of speed reducer. Secondly, the load inertia and load torque of some typical industrial gears are calculated in this thesis. Finally, the thesis analyzes the handling device mechanical structure and characteristics of Five-axis servo handling device, and estimates load inertia and load torque of each axis arm respectively.In the design of five-axis servo handling device, the estimation of load inertia and load torque is a key issue. Due to its complex structure and variability of application environments, the load inertia of each axis arm is difficult accurately estimated. This thesis estimates the traverse axis arm, the vertical axis arms and the crosswise axis arms in different locations, according to the structure of five-axis servo handling device. Through the results of simulation and practical application in one five-axis servo handling device show that the estimating methods of load inertia and load torque gotten from the thesis have the reference value in application.
