With the development of display technology, the traditional stereoscopic displays are difficult to meet the visual needs of the public. To provide a better visual experience, autostereoscopic display technology has become a significant research area. Based on motion parallax,3D autostereoscopic displays can not only visualize three-dimensional virtual objects, but also have a wide range of applications in virtual reality, product design, digital entertainment and other fields.We firstly have a brief study on exist stereoscopic display technologies and theories. Related to the survey, common autostereoscopic display techniques have the disadvantage of the low-level commonality and need of auxiliary equipment. The article design a face detection 3D autostereoscopic display based on DSP platform. The main innovations of thesis are following points:For the real-time need of face detection in DSP platform, a novel method of face detection in video based on Adaboost algorithm is proposed. Compare with the Adaboost face detection algorithm, the method uses the continuity features in video frame for the real-time performance. The method scans the image through a multi-level way to quickly locate the candidate face region. The verification of the skin color model improves the success rate of face detection.Related to the features of binocular camera system, this paper proposes a novel method of transform from camera space to the screen space. This method is divided into three phases. In the first phase, we use the flexible camera calibration method to determine the camera parameters. In the second phase, we determine the viewpoint in screen space based on the camera geometry. In the third phase, we complete the projection and rendering of the model according to the viewpoint.Finally, we design the overall framework of the face detection 3D autostereoscopic display based on DSP platform and implement the process of various subsystems. Moreover, we also do a research on the issues on system such as synchronization of data, frame-buffer output and float-point optimization on platform. Detailed experimental results verify the performance of the total display system.
