More and more electronic control units (ECUs) are introduced into automotives in order to satisfy both the increasingly demands by customers and the rigorous requirements for car safety and emission issues. The information exchange and cooperation between these ECUs makes automotives be treated more likely as a whole system, as a consequence, car making is now turning into a sub-systems integration process rather than traditional sub-parts assembling. This also brings great challenges to car manufacturers. AUTOSAR framework is hence proposed to provide an open and unified platform for all automotive solutions, aiming to reduce the integration cost and complexity. In addition, its network management specification provides general requirements on vehicle network activity handling.According to AUTOSAR specification, this thesis designs and implements an AUTOSAR compliant CAN-specified network management module which is also adopt into vehicle door control ECUs and realizes both of nodes synchronization and detection functions. The major work of this thesis can be summarized as follows:1) Investigated AUTOSAR architecture and multiple vehicle serial buses along with the pervasive network applications as basis of network management design.2) Implemented a network management stack based on a widely used CAN bus. Extensibility is also ensured for adopting more vehicle buses and users can also use interfaces to develop their own network management strategies.3) Applied the network management module to all ECUs contained in the door control network and realized the nodes synchronization functionality.4) Developed a simple vehicle mode management module using interfaces provided by network management module to detect online nodes and successfully provide diagnostic information while network errors occurred.
