Nowadays, more and more knowledge is booming while knowledge dimensions and organization seem to be even complicated. People have to acquire and find useful information to make better choices, which is the only way to survive in fierce competition. Knowledge warehouse is a tool which can help people easy access and manage knowledge. Knowledge should be understandable and easy to transmit, so visualization of knowledge warehouse is very important. Then, knowledge visualization comes out just in time and plays a more and more important rule in social life.XML, as extendable markup language, has elegant and legible organizations. In our study, we choose XML to express the knowledge. The appearance of Rich Internet Application (RIA) brings new vitality to web development. Users operate web applications based on RIA just like operating desktop applications which give them comfortable feeling. Flex is one of the most excellent RIA technologies. Flex is born for knowledge visualization. It has powerful components of various categories. And Flex can handle XML in an effective and convenient way. In our study, we combine the tow and propose newfangled visual representations on knowledge warehouse which was based XML.In this article, we analyze the weakness of traditional web applications, and then we introduce the origin, advantage and solution of Flex. The knowledge cub model based XML was built to organize discipline knowledge. The knowledge cube model is then applied to Software Architecture. Based on our special XML format and Flex, we proposed one of the most popular knowledge visualization techniques: tree map. Our approach has elegant interface and miscellaneous interactions, which facilitate human understanding of knowledge.
