With the rapid development of electronic technology, automotive electronic entertainment products continue absorbing new technologies and the latest research results, so that the car electronics products escalate. The ordinary car MP3 player whose storage device is SD card or U disk can be no longer meet consumer demand. Some electronic products which support large-capacity storage devices such as car HDD MP3 player, car DVR, car hard disk player flood into market. To effective manage these storage devices data with large-capacity must rely on file system. The file system has been widely used among a variety of devices. File system shields the details of storage devices data interaction. It is precisely because of its existence a large number of electronic products are becoming increasingly popular.The using of file system enables the developers to manage the data of storage device in the form of files. Through the API functions provided by the file system and having nothing to do with the underlying physical storage media, developers can easily use a standard interface to access the underlying storage devices. Among the many versions of the file system, the advantage of FAT32 file system highlights. Using the storage devices managed by FAT32 file system can be easily interacted data with person computer which is installed with the Windows operating system. In the storage and retrieval of mobile phone and DV video files, recording and playback of MP3 audio file, the FAT file system plays an important role. It is very important to use the FAT32 file system in the embedded microprocessor and the corresponding storage devices.This paper according to the FAT file system protocol specification, with ARM-processor as the control core, achieve the FAT32 file system in the SD card. All the codes are prepared using C language and achieve a wealth of files and directories-level interface. Takes only about 1K of RAM space to run around, high execution efficiency, conveniently transplanting to 51 MCU, ARM, DSP microprocessor platforms, etc. Program has so good modularity that can manage storage devices in embedded operating systemμC/OS-II by using the file system.The actual project tests show that the file system module has good stability, portability, with high practical value. Which can be applied to commercial project development.
