The rope-less elevator driven by Permanent Magnet Linear Synchronous Motor (PMLSM), introduced in this paper, is one new kind of promising elevator, which has the following advantages: its structure is simple, and it needs no penthouse machine room, even no suspension cables and counterweight, thus space-saving. Besides its hoisting distance and velocity is unlimited, and can be used in both modern skyscrapers and high-rise buildings. So it has wide developing prospect.Based on an overall review of related papers published, this paper is devoted to the control strategies and control device of rope-less elevator driven by PMLSM. Based on the analysis of the basic structure and working principle of rope-less elevator driven by PMLSM, the closed-loop speed controller of PMLSM for elevator is designed. Then the hardware of rope-less elevator control system based on IPC and PLC is designed, which is composed of IPC610 industry computer (IPC), siemens S7-300 programmable logic controller (PLC) and G120 inverter. The IPC completes the system supervisal and control function. The section and swithching operation is realized by PLC. The inverter completes frequency conversion. According to the control requirements of elevator, this paper designs the PLC ladder diagram based on S7-300, and develops the supervisal and control system using ForceControl software. The supervisal and control system has many functions, such as PMLSM motion control, signals acquisition, history record and forecast alarm analysis etc. so it meets the main need of user. The achievement has some positive significance to elevator control and more deep research.
