With the increasing emphasis of marine resources development around the world, how to build a high-performance marine communication network environment has became a focus in the industry. Underwater Acoustic Communication Node is the core in the Communication network function achieving. Each node can independently complete the signal receiving, processing, storage and transmitting.Hardware design in this thesis use underwater acoustic signal processing as its main line. Underwater Acoustic Communication Node will be divided into three parts. They are Signal Receiving Subsystem, Signal Processing Subsystem and Signal Transmission Subsystem. This thesis described in detail from three subsystems, involved the key chip selection, related circuitry and device interface design concept. In the last, thesis describes the node system power supply design.Software design in this thesis aims to solidify the embedded system and program which are suited to node. After Solidifying, when system power on, the Underwater Acoustic Communication Node can auto run without artificial debugging. This thesis focuses on ARM-side Program designing, which is under MontaVista Linux (pro4.0) system. Main tasks include: embedded system transplantation, Linux device driver and application program designing, Network Communication program designing between Windows and Linux environment.The Underwater Acoustic Communication Node uses Davinci system which has TMS320DM6446 as the core processor. TMS320DM6446 internal integrate ARM+DSP dual-core processor. This thesis has done a more in-depth research toward Davinci system from the software and hardware aspects, so that it can be achieved the node function through coordinate with the relevant peripherals.
