The research and development of multifunction IC card is obviously significant to ensurerequirements of diverse, convenient and quick service, speed up the electronic paces ofnational card-based application fields, and form new increase of industries, due to itsconfidential characteristic and its status as one of the open platform. The multifunction ICcard application management system is the main research subject in the dissertation, and itsarchitecture, key technology of multifunction IC card, application download process anddevelopment of multi-application are studied systematically.Firstly, to enhance the cooperation and improve the customer service quality, an openand shared IC card application platform is established. The entire design of multifunctional ICcard application management system is proposed by studies of card application and life cyclemanagement and expressed individualization, which base on development of data process ofapplied management system and co-relation of relevant systems.Secondly, the research is probe into characteristics of IC card multi-applicationtechnology platform, and the design of card security system base on payment application isdeveloped by analysis on IC card life cycle management and issuing system structure &process.Thirdly, the design of multi-application system is studied and developed, which includesapplication and development procedure, uploading applied Applet and individualization script,and application categorization and management. Based on requirements of resource sharingand reuse of developed card, the card application knowledge base is set up, which can be usedto improve the management and overall planning of IC card application.Fourthly, by established downloading new applied program package, setting up appliedexamples and renew of personalized application, the download procedure of secondpersonalized applications is developed. The multifunction IC card life cycle management ispresented. The paper provides a method of download and update applications throughoff-board card readers, and designs of applied download procedures and import of card data.Finally, for non-functional requirements of application download system, this dissertation hasput forward the design for the reliability and stability, load balancing, system scalability and system exception handling.Through the establishment of application resources and operating platform, the systemwhich combined with IC card application life cycle management system will achieve thefunctions such as management of chip card applications, sharing and second personalized.Open architecture is used in development of multi-application IC card resources and runtimeplatform, to upload, manage and share the characteristics application of branches. Theresearch sets up the IC card application life cycle management system to fulfill all functionsof total life cycle management, which lay a foundation for the second personalize of chip card.Card-making system is optimized and flexibly supports all kinds of application that needs tobe installed in the card.The multifunction IC card application management system based on customer-focuseddesign solves the problems of application management, updating and maintenance after ICcard issuing. It is a comprehensive, multi-angle IC card application maintenance andmanagement system, which gives a significant impetus to the development of multifunctionIC card application.
