Vehicle Stability Control(VSC) system can judge the driver's intension by the car's sensors which measure the vehicle conditions and control the vehicle. VSC system can remain the vehicle's stability. The vehicle with the VSC system run following the driver's intension. With the development of economy and technology, the requirements of ve-hicle stability control equipments increase significantly. VSC becomes the international research focus in the field of the vehicle safety control. Now the research in this area has an important and practical significance.On the basis of foreign research results, this article introduces the composition and function of vehicle stability control system, the model prediction control algorithm, the construction of vehicle dynamics hardware-in-loop simulation platform and control algo-rithm simulation validation etc in detail.The main problem of car stability control is elaborated in the first chapter, which in-troduces the current research status of stability control at home and abroad,and analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of the existing vehicle stability control algorithm.The Chapter 2 describes the composition of stability control system and the principle of work. Firstly the composition and working principle of main parts of the vehicle stability control system are illustrated in detail. Finally the basic working principle of vehicle stability control system is introduced.The Chapter 3 introduces the basic knowledge of the model predictive control. To the research question of this paper, this chapter introduces the principle and process of the model predictive control algorithm with constraints,which is the theoretical foundation for the algorithm research of vehicle stability control.The Chapter 4 shows the dynamics hardware-in-loop simulation platform. This chap-ter introduces the composition of the simulation platform and the working principle of each part of platform, then runs the " people-vehicle-road" experiment verifications by simulation platform, which provide the foundation for control system.The Chapter 5 emphatically studies vehicle stability control method basing on model predictive control. This chapter introduces the reference model for control, the predictive control model and braking strategy. Control algorithm is verified by simulation experi-ments.The Chapter 6 will summarize the work of the whole paper and look forward to the further work.
