Mulyiple Systems Fusion Technology Based On HL7

The reform of the Medical and Health system is not only related to peole's livelihood, but also is extremely difficult and complex. In this reform, the accessible interaction of information between the Health-care system and HIS has become essential. Our country's HIS(Hospital Information System) has always been in the'Information Island' situation. They would not share the patient information due to using the diverse HIS softwares provided by different developpers. In recent years, along with the continuous development of the computer and information technology, informatization of our country's medical institution has improved a lot. Especially after the establishment of HL7 standard, information sharing and interworking among the medical departments have stepping into a new construction era. At present, we are promoting the process of the localization of HL7 standard, while enhancing the information of the hospitals.HL7 standard is aimed to establish a protocol for statistical exchange between both parties in the communication for the share of statistical information between isomerous systems. It is expected to overcome the dilemma of'Information Island'. In addition to realize statistical exchange, the promotion and application of HL7 standard have extensive significance to our country's development of the medical industry. It is helpful to keep up with International Standard for China's medical, to strengthen our mecial industry's international competitiveness, and to realize distribution of resources and the overall optimization. So it would make contributions to the socialist construction.In the Real Time Settlement Out-patient Card project that begins in the second half of 2009 in Beijing Millennium Monument Hospital, HL7 has been fully applied as the standard of Medical Electronic Data Interchange. At first, this paper represents the necessary of HL7 in health care reform, and then describes some of the basic concepts of this standard. Finally, it focuses on how to make use of HL7 standards to make exchange of information between hospitals and healthcare center.
