With the development of network, in the small and medium-sized LAN network printing has also developed rapidly. At the same time, network security problem have been paid more and more attention, and the resulted embedded network security equipment has also been widely used. In this paper, the security problems of network printer in a LAN are researched and in order to provide users with a safe and efficient service environment, a dedicated embedded platform is implemented to provide firewall and decryption function for network printer.This thesis makes a deep study in the related technologies about network printing security system, and proposes an overall program. In the analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of architecture of the mainstream embedded, using XScale processor PXA270 to design the embedded hardware platform for network printing security system, and also a detailed analysis of software requirements of the embedded hardware platforms is made. According to the study and comparison of mainstream of the current generic Boot-Loader, porting U-Boot to implement Boot-Loader of the embedded platform, and completing porting embedded Linux systems into the embedded platform. Finally, summarized the study and in accordance with the problems encountered in developing, provided the content by the need to further refine and improve.The tests of the entire network printing security system show that the design of embedded platform to meet the network printer security requirements perfectly.
