The ring laser gyroscope (RLG) becomes an ideal device in navigation because of its advantages of low cost, durability, stability and high dynamic range (HDR). However, as the core of RLG, optical resonator limits the appliance of RLG with the loss of it. More specifically, it is the level of loss that straightly lowers the accuracy of RLG. Aimed at improving the accuracy and performance of laser gyroscope, researches are carried . But there isn't any unified standard in measurements of the loss of optical resonator.Focusing on this, USB and FPGA technology based RLG optical loss signal simulation system is developed. The signal generated by RLG optical is simulated with optical signal and electrical signal respectively. In this way, analyis and evaluation of the accuracy and stability of RLG can be taken easily. As a result, it gives both a reliable tool for measurement and calibration of loss, and the convenience for the development and produce of high accuracy RLG. |
