With the arrival of the information age, the wireless communication provides much convenience for the communication of human and the exchange of news. Obviously, the wireless communication in the military field is always the priority of the development in various countries. The battle units controlled by the command center of the army always depend on the RF communication. Furthermore, the nonuniform of energy density and the intense overlap of electromagnetism frequency spectrum have a much higher requirement for receivers of communication, navigation, radar and so on. In order to achieve an interference source which can generates a series of interference signals used to simulate a complex electromagnetism environment and test the performance of anti-interference, designing a multi-mode signal simulator has become an urgent problem to be solved.Based on the idea of soft define radio(SDR), the thesis proposes an availiable program about a multi-mode signal simulator. By using the large scale FPGA and high speed DAC converter, the thesis establishes a hardware platform and generates interference signals by programming and configuring the FPGA chip. First of all, the thesis introduces the study background of multi-mode signal simulator and the interference strategies. Then, the theory of multi-rate signal processing is analyzed and the feasibility of adopting the key mature technology is discussed in theory. The thesis takes the system requirements and the design index into consideration according to the practical appicaction and a whole design mothod is presented. Then a specific running process is described. On the basis of command recognition, a design method is proposed for signal mode selection and parameter settings. Meanwhile, the thesis describes the design mothod of every module of the FPGA in detail and provides the RTL graphics and the results of the ModelSim simulations. The output waveform is observed through the spectrum analyzer. Through the actual verification, the realization of function is verified. Ultimately the whole function of the multi-mode signal simulator is completed.
