Substrate Integrated Waveguide or SIW, proposed in recent years, is a new guidedwave structure with low insertion loss and radiation loss. Realized on PCB and LTCCprocess, this structure can achieve easily with microstrip integrated circuit and wellsolve the problem of the antenna integration. Compared with traditional waveguideforms, SIW microwave and millimeter wave devices cost very cheap,do not need afterdebugging,which is very suitable for mass production.Used upper and low metal plates and two rows of interval distance metal holes,SIW can be equivalent with traditional waveguide structure. Each row spacing of metalholes is far less than the wavelength, so the leakage of energy is very less. Thestructures which can be realized by traditional waveguide also can be achieved by SIW,such as antennas, filters, power dividers, couplers, etc.This paper discussed X band substrate integrated waveguide slot array antennadesign based on the distribution of Taylor, studied its characteristics of easy integrationand conformal. Using the electromagnetic simulation software HFSS to realizenumerical simulation and structure optimization, all designed antennas can achieve thebetter indexes.
