This dissertation is focused on the synthesis and design of the triangular-grid rectangular waveguide phased array antenna, as well as the related theories and technologies.Firstly, the field distribution of the waveguide aperture radiation element is described, and a waveguide radiator design example is provided, which solves the match problem between radiation elements and free space by introducing inductance membrane. Then an analysis model of triangular-grid planar phased array is proposed under the condition of taking no account of mutual coupling among elements, which conveniently accomplishes triangular-grid array in X and Y direction with different distributions by introducing Wnm factor and achieves Taylor distribution by MATLAB simulation. Moreover, the mutual coupling effect is analyzed and corrected, and the performance of phased array antenna affected by mutual coupling and scan blindness is also analyzed, as well as how to reduce or remove these effects.Additionally, power divider network for high-power triangular-grid planar phased array antenna by utilizing strip-line is studied. Here we design two 1/18 feed networks via coupled strip-line power divider and branch strip-line power divider respectively. In the branch strip-line power divider, a wideband low pass filter structure is introduced to solve the phase slope problem between two output signals. Both two power dividers are processed and tested. Experiments show that the test results fit well with the simulation results, and both the magnitude distributions of the dividers meet the required Taylor distribution for phased array antenna, while it has good phase consistency.Finally, in order to test the microwave devices of waveguide interface quickly and conveniently, one low loss and plug and test waveguide connecting probe is achieved by using choke slot structure. From the test results, we can see the design idea is effective, and the probe has positioning accurate, processing and manufacturing simple, small size, light weight, etc. Especially, the efficiency can be improved greatly for the testing of such a superior number and high density phased array antenna.
