Publishing industry is the core part of cultural industry as an important power for the development of economic and society. With 30 years of development, Chinese publishing industry has become one of the largest powers in the world and is heading to the mighty county of publishing. The structure reformation of Chinese publishing industry began from 2003 and most publishing organizations will be transformed from public institution to enterprises, the National Press and Publishing Administration published the Guidelines to Accelerate the Structure Reformation of Publishing Industry in March 2009 and emphasized the impertinence and urgency of the structure reformation. The total avenue of Chinese publishing industry has reached 1000 billion yuan in 2009 and became a new increase point of economic. And all of 500 publishing enterprises in China will finish the structure reformation by the end of 2010.Yunnan Publishing Group was transformed to a enterprise from public institution in December 2009 and the enterprises then faced the challenges of market, industrial competitiveness and increase of both the assets and revenue to more than10 billions.This thesis first describes the background, purpose and the value of this topic and introduces the theories, the present research output. The analysis for weakness and advantages of Yunnan Publishing Group was conducted by applying the theory of industrial competitiveness, competitive advantage and diamond framework. The author also provides some suggestions based on the provincial strategy of "big channel of Chinese culture to other east south Asia countries"; finish the industry chain reformation via specialization; adjust the structure of publishing catalog to meet the market need; enhance the publishing industry by IT technology and enter the capital market to seek strategy partners. The author then draws a conclusion from the above suggestions:Yunnan Publishing Group was facing the second reformation, the group must accelerate the building of modern enterprise system strengthen the core competitiveness and brand power. Extend the industrial chain to the upper, middle and lower stream of the industry and reallocate the resource and deepen the industry and promote the competitive power. This thesis cites the shortcoming of it and the development trend of this industry in the end.
