Kunming new airport is supposed to be positioned strategically as a national hub airport in China facing South-East Asia, South Asia and connecting Europe and Asia. It is important for national western development strategy, building China-ASEAN Free Trade Area and cooperating with Bangladesh, China, India, Myanmar and other regional on economy. Earlier, airport baggage handling system in most of the major airports such as Beijing, Guangzhou and Shanghai, is imported from abroad in a whole set. Kunming New airport will use airport information system and baggage handling system manufactured by Kunming Shipbuilding Equipment Corporation (KSEC). It is the first large and medium set airport baggage handling system made in China, which has achieve a leapfrog breakthrough for major equipment localization manufacture in the field. Accurate and reliable operation of Baggage handling system is the key of the airport whole baggage handling control system. The traditional control technology is difficult to handle baggage at the transport process as baggage adhesions and covering caused by repeated motor start and stop, which will lead to baggage confusion and errors occurred during the transport.With the rapid development of computer technology, hardware technology, software technology and storage technology, image information take attention to to the People by its form of vividness and intuition.In this paper, we research on the baggage detection and tracing in vedio sequences captured by a group of fixed camera.The main tasks are as follows:Firstly, baggage vedio image captured by a group of fixed camera are initially proeessed, including image smooth and image denoise.Through these processes, converying baggage feature of the image is improved.So that the sum of baggage images are easily got and the accuracy of baggage detection and control is improved.Secondly, in terms of moving object detcetion, the traditional methods of moving object detcetion are analyzed and compared. On this basis, a method which is a combination of two frame difference and Gaussian mixture background background subtraction is discussed.The clear outline baggage image is received.Thirdly, outline of the baggage will be analyzed, at the same time,the area of convex regions and the area of baggage image will be compared in order to determine the number of baggages in current image The mutual blocked or covered baggages will be divided in order to improve accuracy of the baggage handling process control.Fourth, introduce the system functional requirements, the overall design, and software development process. It gives a brief introduction about Image acquisition module, baggage detection and tracing module, baggage analylisis module, communication module.
