In recent years, the ZigBee technology has taken one kind of emerging short distance wireless communication technology, ZigBee is widely focused because it has low power, low cost, low transmission speed, network capacity big and so on characteristics. This paper designed one kind of Wireless Ward Calling System's portable terminal based on ZigBee. Portable terminal includ route equipment and terminal. This portable terminal may allocate for the patient and the medical care personnel.First, this paper has analyzed our country's hospitals to the Ward Calling System's demands, factors and security as stability, flexibility, low power, cost needs in view of the hospital and have designed this article Wireless Ward Calling System's overall solution. This solution overcame in the traditional wired plan to be unable to facilitate increases or the reduced system node and has the patient to be possible body carrying and the convenience use characteristic, it also may raise medical care personnel's working efficiency and to patient's service level.Next, after comparing three kind of ZigBee to realize the plan, embarking from the design flexibility and the extendibility we use MCU and the RF transceiver separation double chip research plan. The hardware design has be divided into the portable end the calling module and the wireless communication module two parts carries on the design. The calling module selected TI Corporation's MSP430FG4618 to take the core chip, The calling module has displaying circuit, power circuit, warning and pressed key electric circuit, real-time clock, temperature sensor modules. The wireless communication module choose Chipcon Corporation's CC2420 as the core chip. Between the calling module and the wireless communication module use the SPI interface to carry on communication and this paper gives the portable end call module and the wireless communication module low power design. Therefore, the patient uses the system can realis sound and the light warning function, information as bed number, call content and call time transmits functions and so on portable end which through the wireless network the master control center to the medical care personnel user. At the same time, system's design has the very strong extension, after turning on other medical sensor then may become the function more formidable wireless medical monitoring system.Finally, according to the hospital actual need, the paper designed Wireless Ward Calling system network based on ZigBee, enabled the Wireless Ward Calling system to be possible to realize the convenience network and to give the concrete network setup procedure and the software design.
