With the tendency of the trends of times, Animation Industry is also developing rapidly. In China,3D Animation is a newly arisen profession, which belongs to one of the branch of Computer Graphics. But 3D Animation gives first place to Character Animation, no matter TV ads or Film and Television Productions, various forms of Character Animations have been added. Therefore, Character Animation becomes one of the required links of 3D Animation.The main body of the paper is the route along discussing the Character Animation, studying Skeleton Assembly Technology on dynamics principles, also by MEL of Maya, combining with Non-Linear Animation Editor and Inverse Kinematics such powerful functions to compile a Character Skeleton Assembly Plugins. The methods of Skeleton Assembly Technology differ a lot; here we give an improvement from one common process, which makes assembly process integration. Concequently, the progress of work can be simplyfied and the working efficiency can be improved.In consideration of multi-factor, this article has been used a method based on template, firstly the skeleton must be templated, then combine the template with plug systems by script. When the animator designs the animation, he can use the template in skeleton bank directly. So some complex work during the process of animation making can be decreased. Of course the animator can amend the template of the skeleton. All are personalized settings.The paper firstly states current status of fileds of 3D Character Animation, basic knowledge, and common-used control techiniques. Secondly, introduces the designing idea and actualize process of skeleton assembly system in details. Finally, tests the reslts of the experiment. All of which have proved it suitable and scientificity. The system are specified for several details, especially the effects of character deformation have been developed, which make the effect of the model deformation simulates real human body muscle by the greatest extent when the activity of skeleton. Nowadays, in the film-making market, more and more technologies of character animation apply in 3D Animation and TV ads. And Skeleton assembly technology plays an important role in this whole workflow, what's more, it has close relationship with the following section animation modifiers.In the working process of advanced character animation, advanced setting of skeleton assembly technology must combine with dynamics setting of MEL so that skeleton assembly technology can reach a higher level.
