Drew texturing machine is one kind of textile machinery which has been used in chemical fiber field. It processes polyester, polypropylene and other untwisted yarn and produces the elastic yarn with the low and high elasticity. Nowadays, with the gradual enlarging and strengthening of the domestic textile industry, the technical requirement of texturing machine becomes higher and higher. Especially on demand of Enterprise Management Information, the electrical control system of texturing machine goes towards the trends of digitization, automation and energy saving.In order to achieve the target of enterprise management information for texturing company, the gateway based on the ARM system have been introduced and developed in this paper. It first analyzes the advantages and weaknesses of PLC control system that is popularly used in texturing machine now. And then, it proposes one new electrical control system based on an ARM embedded gateway. Through this gateway, the machine control network based on field bus protocol can communicate with the Ethernet so as to boost the informational level of enterprises.The hardware and software design of this gateway have been introduced in this paper. The core of hardware is LPC2292, an ARM7 processor, and the hardware also includes other circuit modules, such as power supply, RS485 communication interface, CAN bus interface, memory expansion circuit, and Ethernet interface, etc. Software design is first transplantingμC/OS-II operation system on the ARM processor, and then implements the protocol conversion. The whole design has the following characteristics:1. Based on the demand of drew texturing machine, the gateway system have integrated protocols of CAN-bus, RS-485 and Ethernet. One or more gateways can be installed in one machine so as to improve the real time performance of data communication.2. In order to promote the ability of EMC, several methods of anti-jamming have been employed in the hardware design, which mainly appear in the power supply design, PCB design, communication interface design, and so on. The target is to improve the system stability under harsh environments. 3. The system can be expanded to have 8M memory in order to provide enough space for system expand, and the transplantedμC/OS-II makes system run better under multitask.The current system has passed the sample test, the rate of the Ethernet end system is up to 2Mbit/s, and that of CAN bus is up to 1Mbit/s, which show the feasibility of the design scheme.
