Laser Drilling is a High-end technology of precision machining, laser drilling became a effective processing technology because of the directional light and high energy density of laser beam. In order to meet the requirment of high quality drilling in industry, a new type multi-pulse YAG laser has been made and used to drill high quality holes on a thin steel of 0.1mm thickness in this paper.This paper illustrated the basic principle of single-pulse laser drilling, analyzed and discussed the process of multi-pulse laser drilling. A new imagination that the holes obtained by new type multi-pulse laser drilling are better than ones obtained by traditional single-pulse laser drilling has been proposed. And experiments have been made.High power density laser output has been obtained by lamp-pumped YAG laser. In the same output energy, we drilled holes on the same material with different output waveform of laser pulse. The experiment result confirmed that new type multi-pulse laser drilling can obtain higher quality holes. At the same time, the ideal number of multi-pulse has been got. |
