| Non-commissioned officers (NCO) are a group of servicemen with the rank between soldiers and officers. As an important part of the Chinese modern PLA, the NCO contingent plays an important role in the Chinese military reform. Much attention has been paid by the central military commission to the establishment of regulations in motivating the NCO contingent, and has achieved good results. However, with the development of socialist market economy, and the diversification of ideology, the motivation system has gradually shown limitation in fulfilling the objective demands of supervising the NCO contingent.This study focuses on finding reasons for the weakening effect of the motivation system and how to solve the problems.This paper is divided into five parts: the first part brings forward the core questions, confirming the effect of the motivation system and also stating the weakening of its effect in motivating the NCO contingent; the second part is theory study, applying motivation theory to analyze the motivation demands and factors in the NCO contingent, which provides theory basis to the study; the third part analyzes reasons for the weakening effect of motivation from the prospective of social environment, ideology, current system and implementation process, etc; the fourth part puts forward four aspects of suggestions, according to the analyzed reasons; lastly, based on a case study on motivation system carried out in the NCO contingent in a military scientific research unit, a practical motivation mode has been put forward by the author, which futhur proves the main points of this paper. |
