If we compared teaching of Chinese as a second language to a big tree, the Chinese word teaching must be a very thick branch of it. The methods of Chinese word teaching have been focused for quite a long time. There are many researches related about it, those results are based on various perspectives. Professor Zhang Xuexin brought forward a new theory : Chinese is a language rely on a rule that, the language are raised by the combination of two or more characters which can generate new words to deliver new meaning,we can name it ‘Pinyi theory of Chinese’. The theory comes from teacher Zhang Xuexin and his team by the electrical response experiments. The theory brought out a new definition to the essence of Chinese characters. In this theory, Chinese characters have the same status as the alphabetic writing. The new definition brought a new direction to the teaching of Chinese as a second language. This paper is trying to bring the new theory to the Chinese word teaching, and studying the new theory’s feasibility. In the teaching experiments, I compared the class using the normal methods with the class using the new theory.The experiment results tell us, the new theory is feasible.
