A Study Of The "Blank" In Wei Jin 's Metaphysical Poems

The metaphysical poems of Wei, Jin came into being in Wei and Jin Dynasty and were popular by using a metaphysical mode of thinking to express the theme of metaphysics and aesthetic styles. There were many different types of the metaphysical poems. And mainly characteristics were virtual and simple. Main features of the poems, which were simple and serene, gave enormous remaining attractive imagination to works of metaphysical poems in Wei and Jin Dynasty and achieved the unique character for the existence of art “ blank”. The study of this thesis focused on the problems about the art ‘blank’ of metaphysical poems of Wei,Jin. And this thesis aimed at using analysis and expatiating to seek for the way of the existence of art ‘blank’ such as creating images of poems, words being closed to readers but the theme being far and deep, an opinion of ‘empty’ which contains everything. The ‘empty’ here means ‘ambiguity’ which combined together with‘reality’ creating dreamlike beauty. As a whole, the way of the existence of art ‘blank’was summarized about three kinds. So, the aim of this thesis is to seek for the reasons of the appearance and value of metaphysical poems of Wei, Jin.Full thesis is divided into four major parts:First part: the basic situation of the Chinese metaphysical poetry in Wei and Jin Dynasties. From classification of the Chinese metaphysical poetry in Wei and Jin Dynasties--speaking metaphysics bluntly,Roaming fairyland,and borrowing mountain and water to summarize metaphysics category, and according to the summarize of Wei, Jin metaphysics to present the characteristics of the overall style.The second part: the way of the existence of Wei Jin metaphysics about "blank".This chapter selects the representative characters and concrete poetry works of Wei and Jin Dynasties for specific analysis and elaboration to seek the way of the existence of ‘blank’. Poets drew support from image of poetry to express metaphysics.creating images of poems, words being closed to readers but the theme being far and deep, an opinion of ‘empty’ which contains everything. From the Wei Jin metaphysical works content and metaphysical verse language form to explore.Metaphysical poems are unique poetic language, talking about metaphysics and Taoism by poems arguing and having characteristics of indirect, so that the work has the possibility of "blank" aesthetics. Characteristics of the language of metaphysical poetry works and were simple, although the language is simple but rich in meaning, including infinite. It can be said is beyond the limitation of language,but had an endless world of image.The fourth part: the value and meaning about "blank" of Metaphysical Poetry in the Wei and Jin Dynasties. This chapter analyses the value and meaning about the "blank" of Chinese Metaphysical Poetry from the impact of aesthetic after reading poetry. The "blank" in the metaphysical poetry can cause associative thinking, stimulate the imagination and expand contents, capacity and depth of poetry works and produce aesthetic aftereffect-- "taste" has an important influence on the later literary theory.
