The Selection Of Jazz Material In Solfeggio Teaching

Since Chinese economic reform, plenty of undergraduate students in music have being studying Sight Singing and Sear Training lessons. One of the topics in it is how to improve and enrich hearing and practicing ability in music. More research and exploration need to be done about how to help students handle music styles precisely among nationalities and categories. In this article, Origin, development and genres of Jazz will be discussed, so are the rhythm, tempo characters and harmony part of Jazz which will be used in classroom-teaching.After about 100 year’s development, Jazz has many fans around the world and have become majors in many music education institute on a world-wide scale. I had a chance to further my study of piano performance in California University for one year. Thanks to the guidance and plenty of help from Professor Dmitry Rachmonov, later then, I managed to hold an individual concert of Jazz piano during the first year of my graduate study back in Xi’an Conservatory of Music. I hope by researching and discussing about Jass music material, contents of Hear Training and Sightseeing will be enriched among aspects of sight-singing, music dictation and hearing analysis.
