Trademark, as a kind of label, is composed by words or some graphic symbols With special meanings, which contains product information and corporate culture. It has the effect of guarantying the quality of goods, and is restricted by the law. Commercial marks, serving as salesmen, play a role in the process of selling and circulating goods on the market, and they are also effective tools to exchange and spread the information of commodity. They provide a convenient service for consumers to search for goods rapidly, so that they’re considered as efficient and valuable visual symbols. In order to research the origin of commercial marks, this paper dates back to the period of the Republic of China.By clarifying the evolution of commercial marks in the history, the paper explores the characteristics of famous trademarks’ pattern, comprehends their cultural connotation, analyses the artists’ creative ideas and motivations from the angle of modern design, and interprets the expressions and decorative colors of trademarks with the traditional concept of culture.As the promotion of western artistic movements and design concepts in our country, modern commercial marks will develop faster and healthier.
