Exploring The Modernity Of Li Jianwu 's Novel Creation

Li Jianwu was famous for literary criticism、drama writing and France literary translating in his time. However, his achievement in poetry、prose and novels were ignored. Though some researchers have began to pay attention to poetry and prose, with getting some improvement, the research for novel creating is not enough, no longer to the system research for Li Jianwu in deeply. Judging from above, this paper taking his novel creation as the object of study, attempts to reveal a whole new perspective from his thoughts and aesthetic values, to discuss the modern conception of Li Jianwu’ novels and to find the common and development in Chinese novel and The Wast novel tradition from the perspective of culture communicating.The modernity in this paper is used as the measure value to judge Li Jianwu’ novel creation in the profound intention of the theme and the innovation of the article shills. In the guiding of modernity, first of all, the human being must be a cultivating person, leaving his self-caused immaturity. The theme of Li Jianwu’s novels is enlightenment, by criticizing the negation of traditional culture to affirm of the modernity of human, to liberate human personality.The first part of this paper is based on three aspects, which is uncovering the piece of sick life, the soul of the calling report and human feelings of the weak human nature oriented and self-defense, to expound the enlightenment theme. In the art of innovation, with the establishment of the modern person, the aesthetic concept of modernity is born. Li Jianwu brings Chinese traditional culture and the West culture together in novel creating. So that, in the second part, the consciousness and pluralism of the narrative style and the deeper perspective in mentality is the performance of LiJianwu’s unique innovation in novels. In the last, through the first two parts, Li Jianwu’s novels in the late twenty’s of twentieth Century has its special value as a connecting link which mainly displays in two aspects: one is the inheritance and development of Lu Hsun as the representative of the enlightenment novels; and the other is gains new development and creative transformation in the fusion of western literature and art concept based on Chinese native fiction. All in all, Li Jianwu’s novels promote the meaning of modernity for Chinese modern novels. The important content of this paper is to examine the meaning of modernity of Li Jianwu’s novels in the history of literature from its various manifestation of modernity.
