| With the development of China,s urbanization, a large number of rural population migrate to city,their children also entered the city have become “migrant childrenâ€, but the limitation of household registration and the discrimination from urban population make them cannot be fully integrated into society. Discrimination perception is a subjective experience relatives to the objective discrimination, it refers to the individual feels they have been treated differently due to group membership they belong, discrimination perception may affect migrant children,s mental health. Self-esteem is the foundation and core of personality and psychological component of self-regulation structure, it is emotional experience which is based on evaluation of individual and others, it requests respect from others, collective and society. Society identity theory suggests that individuals feels the difference between in-group and out-group through the social categorization process, thus form different attitude.This study uses questionnaires and implicit experiment, it selects migrant children from Beijing public school and migrant school as subjects. Surveying of individual, group discrimination perception questionnaire. Rosenberg self-esteem scale and group preference implicit test. Using t test, variance analysis, correlation analysis and regression analysis to discuss the status and relation of discrimination perception, self-esteem, group preference. This research makes the following main conclusions:(1)Migrant children of public children:group discrimination perception is significantly higher than individual discrimination perception. They show significantly in-group preference. There is a significant correlation between self-esteem, individual discrimination perception and out-group preference. There is a significant correlation between individual, group discrimination perception and out-group preference.(2)Migrant children of migrant school:They show significantly in-group preference. There is a significant correlation between self-esteem,individual,group discrimination perception and in-group preference.(3)Migrant children of migrant school there are significantly higher level than migrant children of public school in terms of individual,group discrimination perception and in-group preference. Migrant children of public school there are significantly higher self-esteem level than migrant children of migrant school.(4)Migrant children of public children:Individual discrimination perception has a significant positive predictive ability to out-group preference, self-esteem has a significant negative predictive ability to out-group preference.Migrant children of migrant school:Individual,group discrimination perception have a significant positive predictive ability to in-group preference, self-esteem has a significant negative predictive ability to in-group preference. |
