Based upon overviews of previous researches and practices about the drug-addicts, the rate of relapse remains high, mainly because of lack of effective solutions and strategies for the mental health recovery of the drug-addicts, and long-term psychological counseling will work remarkably.Therefore, this research is oriented towards creating a kind of group psychological counseling for different purposes within different sessions and analyzing whether this kind of intervention works for the mental health recovery of drug-addicts. The framework of the group psychological counseling is built on the interpersonal dynamic theory from Yalom and some structured activities such as psychodrama and projection cards, are introduced to make it more friendly to the group members and semistructured as a whole solution.Methods:First,400 Drug-addicts in the bureau of compulsory drug abuse control are requested to fulfill the relevant questionnaires,including the basic personal information, SES, SITS and PSSS. And according to the questionnaires and the performance feedback from staff in the bureau of compulsory drug abuse control,25 subjects are screened to have an interview with the group facilitator in order to finalize the intervention and control group.Furthermore,12 sessions of psychological counseling are carried out within the intervention group and nothing is done to the control group. Finally, those 25 subjects are asked to fulfill the relevant questionnaires again to analyze whether the intervention has an impact on the drug-addicts and how.Results: The intervention group shows a significant difference between results assessed before and after the intervention experiment, on the contrary, the control group remains the same.
