"Original Secretary" Study

Yuan Shi Mi Shu is an encyclopedia for daily use in Ming Dynasty which compiled by Ming’s Prince Zhu Quan. This book consists of ten volumes and divided into fifty-seven categories. It is fairy practical by tracing things origin in the aspect of food, customs,economic, legal and so on. Besides, this book also introduce some knownleges about Astronomy, Geography, government post, constuction, music, cloth recreation and entertainment. These entries reflected people’s daily life in Song and Yuan Dynasty. Mainwhile, they offered us some precious classical literature in doing research.Until now, there are a lot of research findings about Zhu Quan’s works which related to his Dao, drama, health, medicine and Science and technology works. However, there is no research about Yuan Shi Mi Shu.Thus, this article is going to divided into seven parts to study it :First chapter is an exordium, introducing the reason why I choose Yuan Shi Mi Shu as a study object. The second chapter introduce Zhu Quan and the influence that the battle called “Jing Nan” casted in Zhu Quan’s books. The third chapter introduce the version and contents of Yuan Shi Mi Shu. The forth chapter mainly study the entries in Yuan Shi Mi Shu. The fifth chapter introduce the development of daily use encyclopedia. The six chapter discuss the value of Yuan Shi Mi Shu. Andthe last chapter study the relationship between Yuan Shi Mi Shu and Shi Wu Ji Yuan.
