Comparative Perspective. "si Ku Quan Shu" And "encyclopedia" Eighteenth-century China-eu Cultural Differences

This thesis takes Imperial Collection of Four and Encyclopedia as study object, and the thesis is composed by five sections to discuss the cultural differences between China and European in 18th century:Introduction. Summarize and conclude the situation of the study on the Encyclopedia and Imperial Collection of Four, and analyze the study's theoretical and practical significance, briefly explain the method and innovations in this thesis, in addition some concepts.Chapter 1. From the organization and structures differences. The thesis analysis the way of organiztion with the two books, so that to summarize their characteristics. Imperial Collection of Four adopt official compilation mode, as a result it exist some class differences. In the contrast of this, Encyclopedia's compilers is equality relatively, and the authority don't interfere in them.Chapter 2. From the compile members'differences. I have introduce compile members first, and then divide them into different classes. Imperial Collection of Four's compilers all belong to government officials, however, Encyclopedia's compilers come from various class of society.Chapter 3. From the focus of content between the two books. Compare with Imperial Collection of Four and Encyclopedia in content, and summarized where is the books focus on. The former places an extra emphasis on Humanities, and the latter focus on both natural science and humanities.Conclusion. Summarize the cultural differences between China and European in 18th century.
