| The frequent drought in Qinghai from Qing dynasty to the period of the republic of China had a great impact on its social order, economy, and other aspects. On the basis of systematic analysis of historical data in that period of time, this paper summaries the space-time distribution regularities of the drought happened in east of Qinghai area. Meanwhile, as the relief became diverse, both governments and non-governments did something actively. Besides, this period belongs to the replacement of past and new social period, so the relief pattern of governments also had the innovation and development.The structure of this thesis is as follows:Introduction, illustrates the reason, review of related literature, research setting, contents, methodology and innovation of this thesis.Chapter One, further analyzes the space-time distribution regularities on the basis of the total115times of drought happened in east of Qinghai area through the collection and statistics during Qing Dynasty and the republic of China period.Chapter Two, discusses the impacts of drought in Qinghai during the Qing Dynasty and the republic of China period from the following four aspects:drought and population, drought and economy, drought and social order, drought and culture.Chapter Three, discusses the measures taken by governments and non-governments to deal with disasters in that period. In order to maintain the ruling, series of prevention and mitigation measures are used to complete the mechanism. But still some other folks take the participation, such as the local squire, relief commission, and foreign missionaries. Besides, this part compares the thoughts and measures in both Qing and the republic of China period.Conclusion, discusses the implication for the current prevention and mitigation measures. That is to say, make use of the leadership, strengthen the policy and law, foster the awareness of protecting the environment and enhance the initiative to participation and disaster relief. |
