| Tibetan language plays an important role for Tibetan people in social communication, education and cultural transmission. It is inevitably required to utilize advanced computer technologies, linguistic theories and research approaches to drive the informationization process of Tibetan, so as to store and develop the cultural heritage thereof. Tibetan input and typesetting is the basis for its informationization, and directly influences the process thereof.Tibetan is, inherently, an alphabetic language, but with planar shape in character pattern. Therefore when designing an input method for Tibetan, both the features should be taken into consideration, such that it is not only in conformity with the spelling and writing habits of Tibetan-speakers, but also its character structure. Accordingly, inputting Tibetan simply in the linear order is not available.Among the prior Tibetan input methods, some have no support for the international character set, and others input words in a linear way with low efficiency, besides, their keyboard layouts are not so reasonable. Nowadays, text service of Windows system has been changed into TSF (Text Service Framework), and previous IME (Input Method Editor) gradually becomes unavailable on the latest version of Windows Operation System, like Windows8. Thus, it is necessary to develop a Tibetan input method based on TSF.This input method adopts the latest version of Unicode character sets for Tibetan, and achieves the objective of inputting Tibetan based on TSF, which not only widens the applications of Tibetan input method such that it can operates on Windows XP and the later versions of Windows OS, but also provides an reference for developing input methods for the other similar languages. Additionally, this thesis analyzes various thoughts of the current Tibetan input methods, and draws up Tibetan association and memory inputting program according to the Tibetan features on spelling and writing, the word-formation ability and encoding manner. Finally, functions of word-phrase mixed associating, temporary memory and eternal memory are realized, which coordinate with each other to input Tibetan words and phrases efficiently. |
