Research On Workflow Technology In The PDM System

As computer and information technology are fast developing, enterprises demand more and more autoimmunization, workflow management technology now is considered. Workflow management technology can make better use of information and human resources, to support enterprises' drive for efficiency. Current research on workflow management technology is in these three aspects: the basic theory, including the workflow management system, model and definition, etc. the second is workflow realization technology, including all kinds of advanced software application, workflow simulation, especially about workflow management system security and dealing with concurrent workflow. The third is workflow technology application, including workflow technology application methods and software integration, etc. This thesis studied the realization.The study and application of workflow technology in China is very recent. Although there are researchers who have studied the workflow management and relational technologies from various angles, many key technical questions still are not answered. Now workflow management technology usually works inside a PDM system.The author took part in the software development of Tiangong PDM system and was responsible for the workflow facility. In the course of the software programming, base on the requirement of manufacture enterprises, using computer technology, communications technology, network technology and database technology, the author studied the realization and tools for workflow management. Using a structural design method combined with object oriented method, the author developed the model for workflow management in the PDM system, Including the structure, function, model and database, etc. This thesis is organized as following:1.Summarized the research results of PDM system and workflow management technology;2.Analysed the basic theories of workflow management, discussed some key technology questions about workflow management technology and application indetail;3.Developed the workflow management model, realized the function lines. Such as files tasks, submit, auditing, process, standard, authorization and change, and so on. With friendly user interface, quick reaction, easy to operate, it met the requirement of manufacture enterprises;4.Put forward a flexible workflow management model.Finally, the author summarized the work, and pointed out the trends in the workflow research.
