Based On The Workflow Process Management System

There is a phenomenon that the organization of latter-day institutions/enterprises is trending to turn to net-style from pyramid-style.This condition demands more advanced manage mode in the institutions/enterprises.The harmony of functional modules in institutions/enterprises becomes more important and complex.In such a case,workflow management becomes a fast evolving technology.It is used in various areas.According to the definition made by Workflow Management Coalition,workflow is a computerized facilitation or automation of a business process,in whole or part.Workflow can be passed and executed in different excutor by a series of process rules,documents,information or tasks. Workflow Management Coalition(WfMC) also defines a workflow management sysytem as follows:A system that completely defines,manages and executes "workflows" through the execution of software whose order of execution is driven by a computer representation of the workflow logic. Workflow manage's primary characteristic is the automation of processes involving combinations of human and machine-based activities.We can use the concept and idea of workflow in the information system ,which is devised for the business that can be abstracted as flow. Then we can build a system,that can specify the process model in terms of concrete business precedure.This system will be universal in the area of the business about flow management.At first ,this paper expatiate the concept of workflow and the Workflow Reference Model put forward by the Workflow Management Coalition.Secondly,this paper discusses the way of building the workflow model.The application of Petri nets and Condition Directed Graph(CDG) in the area of process model building are the point of this part in this paper.Two process models about a same specified business procedure are built by the theory of classic petri nets and colored petri nets respectively. Then a comparison is made between the modeling result using classic petri nets and the modeling result using colored petri nets.In the part ofCondition Directed Graph(CDG),this paper discusses the Condition Directed Graph(CDG) used by a workflow management system named Wowww!,and gives a formalized presentation of it.Based on above work,we can introduce the idea of workflow management into a system about flow business.In this paper, a structure of this system is given. The system consists of three parts:flow defmition,flow control and flow management.About flow definition,this paper discusses the way to define the process model,the interface between the user and this system.About flow control,two critical class are given.and then this paper discusses the data members,the methods and the critical arithmetic used in these two class.About flow management,the interface and the implement of critical functions are given.The writer hope this paper will be useful to build a flow management system.
